2012 seems to be the year for long suffering projects finally making it to the big screen. I don't know if director Walter Salles' adaptation of Jack Kerouac's On the Road will be as good as John Carter, but I'm betting Lionsgate is hoping a better showing at the box office. The film stars Sam Riley and Garrett Hedlund as Sal Paradise and his friend Dean Moriarty in their search for "It" on their road trips across the country. Kristen Stewart, Amy Adams, Kirsten Dunst, Viggo Mortensen, Steve Buscemi, and Terrence Howard also star. The film, which premiered this past weekend at the Toronto International Film Festival to mixed reviews, opens in limited release in select cities on December 21st.
