After the group's Biology examination is cancelled Annie (Alison Brie) decides to try and play matchmaker by putting Troy (Donald Glover) and Britta (Gillian Jacobs) together while she spends time with Abed (Danny Pudi) in the Dreamatorium.
However, their make-believe reality into something quite different when Annie breaks Abed by changing the rules of the game which transforms the adventures of Professor Spacetime into "a sexy emotional school where doctors save lives and make love, often simultaneously" filled with versions of the study group.
As Annie searches for the real Abed while talking to various simulations of the study group (each being played by Abed) truths about her real reason for wanting a relationship to Jeff (Joel McHale) and Abed's fears of ending up alone come to light.
Community is one of those shows that isn't afraid to give us a heavy meta episode (the show gave us an entire claymation Christmas special) and "Virtual System Analysis" does just that, as well as bringing the two roommates a little closer. The final sequence of Troy and Abed in the Morning getting derailed by another of Annie's unexpected changes is a nice touch as well.
