A US Marshall (Jon Olson), and old friend of Danny's (Scott Caan), is killed on a plane while transporting a prisoner (Theo Rossi) to Hawaii. At first Five-0 believes the prisoner killed the Marshall before making his escape when the plane touched down. The truth, however, is far more complicated.
A tip from the woman (White Collar's Gloria Votsis) who put him away helps the team recapture the convict, but the news gets worse for Danny because the man responsible for killing his friend is a dirty cop (Peter Greene) from New Jersey out for revenge.
When Petersen (Greene) kidnaps Grace (Teilor Grubbs) all of Danny's worst nightmares come true as he must race against the clock to save his daughter from a dirty cop he put in prison for a decade. Danny is faced with an impossible choice as Petersen orders him to kill Stan (Mark Deklin) if he ever wants to see his little girl again.
Danny takes center stage and the episode does a good job playing on his panic that his daughter and ex-wife are in danger by a man he once considered a friend. The show definitely ratchets up the tension, but the final moments of the episode do feel a bit rushed. The episode also opens with a cute scene between McGarret and Lori racing up the Koko Head Stairs. They have a good on-screen chemistry, and by the looks of things it may be only a matter of time before the show puts this pair together.
