To help earn tenure Will (Matthew Morrison) enlists the help of the night school Spanish teacher (Ricky Martin) with a love of music to help the Glee Club with their latest assignment - to perform songs written or performed by Latin artists. Along the way one of Will's students will teach him an important lesson about teaching which will lead him to make an unexpected change.
Sue (Jane Lynch), who is also in line for the tenured position, announces her plans to have a child and begins looking around McKinley to find a suitable donor. She also finds a new nemesis in synchranized swimming coach Roz Washington (NeNe Leakes), but the tenured position goes to a far more cheery member of the McKinley staff.
Mercedes (Amber Riley) enlists the help of Emma (Jayma Mays), to work out her feelings for Sam (Chord Overstreet), who proscribes the two spending the week apart for an entire week. Rachel (Lea Michele) confides to Mercedes and Kurt about Finn's (Cory Monteith) proposal which leads to Kurt confronting his half-brother about his new defeatist attitude.
Songs from the episode include Ricky Martin's performance of LMFAO's "Sexy and I Know It," Mercedes sings Gloria Estefan's "Don't Wanna Lose You," Sam, Kurt, Puck (Mark Salling), Mike Chang (Harry Shum Jr.) and Rory (Damian McGinty) perform a mashup of the Gipsy Kings' "Bamboleo" and Enrique Iglesias' "Hero," Ricky Martin and Santana (Naya Rivera) perform Madonna's "La Isla Bonita," and Will (in a full matador costume) sings a self-translated version of Elvis Presley's "A Little Less Conversation."
