Strange things are afoot on this year's Psych Halloween episode as Shawn (James Roday), Gus (Dulé Hill), and Juliet (Maggie Lawson) investigate a murder where the victim's body was drained of all blood and Lassiter (Timothy Omundson) meets an alluring woman (Kristy Swanson) who takes an immediate attraction to him before disappearing and become a suspect in the murder investigation.
Despite Lassiter's attempts to believe the best in the woman who he obviously has feelings for they are forced to arrest her. The real killer, however, turns out to be neither a vampire nor Lassiter's new friend but a disturbed man suffering from a rare blood disease which Shawn recognizes as Van Wilder's Disease. (That may not actually be what it's called, but I've heard it both ways.)
Aside from Swanson's (the first Buffy) appearance, "This Episode Sucks" includes an appearance by Corey Feldman (Lost Boys) as well. And Shawn and Gus pull out the costume trunk to give us their version of Anne Rice's Lestat and Count Chocula, I mean Blacula.
By the end of the episode the blood letting is explained, the killer is in custody, and Lassiter, believe it or not, has himself a new girlfriend. There are also some great moments with Juliet loosing patience over Shawn and Gus' antics (including naming a cat as their prime suspect and dosing a suspect in holy water). Boys will be boys.
