When the machine spits out the name of a soldier (James Carpinello) home from Afghanistan Reese (Jim Caviezel) follows his new target to figure out what danger might befall him. What he uncovers is a crew of former soldiers turned thieves executing precision robberies across the city.
While watching Joey and his girlfriend (Lili Mirojnick) Reese begins to flashback on his own relationship with the woman (Elizabeth Masucci) who tried to wait for him but he eventually lost. Despite the increasing danger, Reese is determined to try and help Joey find a happy ending for both he and his girl.
In an attempt to keep Joey safe Reese introduces himself to the leader of the soldiers (Ruben Santiago-Hudson) and becomes their newest member. Now all he has to do is keep Joey alive long enough to try and convince him to quit the crew and let go of the guilt he feels for the death of a fellow soldier in the Middle East.
"Mission Creep" is a good episode that gives us a story similar to that of our protagonist to explain more of his past. It also uses the crew's last job (a piece of evidence stolen from police lock-up) to introduce a new ongoing story to the series. Who is the man behind the crew, and why did he need the evidence retrieved? Guess we'll just have to wait and see.
