A simple deployment of new survelliance techonlogy on the Polish/Belarus border turns into anything but when Annie (Piper Perabo) and Reva (Jaimie Alexander) are picked up by the secret police after discovering a fake village used as a holding station for weapons and vehicles destined for hostile nations. And, sadly, these aren't the types of guys to believe their cover story of being innocent Canadian hikers.
Things get even testier on the homefront when the first extraction sent into grab the agents, led by Jai (Sendhil Ramamurthy), is a failure and Joan (Kari Matchett) fights against the U.S. State Department's unwillingness to pay the Belarusians the $60 million ransom for the return of her operatives.
The episode does a good job at showcasing how well Annie can adapt to a new situation including going toe-to-toe with her captor (played by Peter Stormare) without admitting anything. The episode allows for Alexander to stick around for this second episode as well, although I'm already growing a little tired of Reva who struggles here as a lab tech who doesn't belong in the field.
